MU Donates to Union Beach in Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

University students from Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), the education honors society, and the International Reading Association (IRA) collaborated to raise money and collect school items to donate to the Union Beach Memorial School (UBMS) on February 7. The school, which includes students from pre-school to eighth grade, was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.

MU’s Sexual Misconduct Policy

Due to recent incidents at Monmouth University, there has been an ongoing discussion about the University’s policy on sexual misconduct and the definition of Title IX. According to annual public reports provided online by the University, there have been seven rapes and two acts of criminal sexual contact on campus from 2012-2014. Six of these incidents occurred in residential areas on campus.

University President Paul R. Brown Ph.D. released a statement to students and faculty on Jan. 30 in response to President Donald Trump’s travel ban. According to Brown, the University is committed towards maintaining a climate of inclusiveness despite the exclusive nature of the ban.
