Men’s Tennis: The University men’s tennis team split two matches in Washington DC over the weekend. MU defeated Georgetown 4-3 on Saturday for their first win of the season before they fell to George Washington on Sunday, 7-0. The Hawks earned four consecutive singles wins from Sophomore Nicola Pipoli, Senior Przemyslaw Filipek, Junior Ale Gomez Estrada, Senior Christian Vieira, and also picked up a doubles win from Filipek and Gomez Estrada against Georgetown The blue and white will host their first match of the season on Friday when they welcome Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Saint Peter’s to West Long Branch for a 7:00 p.m. start.

Men’s Basketball Defeated by No.10 Kentucky
Men’s Basketball fell to #10/#9 ranked Kentucky 90-44 as the hosts did not trail once in the game and led by as many as 47 on Wednesday night at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. The Hawks then lost to Bucknell, 65-43, on Saturday. The loss continues their winless season, falling to 0-9.
Women’s Bowling Competes in Conference
The Monmouth bowling team competed in their first conference competition of their 2021 season at the MEAC Meet in North Carolina this weekend and finished with a .500 record.
Women’s Basketball Dismantles Niagara
The women’s basketball defeated Niagara University 83-60 Sunday afternoon in West Long Branch, NJ. Senior guard Jamiyah Bethune scored a team-high 20 points while grabbing eight rebounds and four assists. Monmouth also received double-digit points from junior guard Tyese Purvis (13) and senior guard Sarah Olson (16). Junior forward Christina Mitchell also contributed nine points and seven rebounds. It is the first conference win for Monmouth in the young season.
