The women’s lacrosse team was defeated in all three of their matchups over spring break. They competed against three highly talented teams in Delaware, Boston College (BC) and Towson. Monmouth now has a season record of 2-7 and have concluded non-conference play.

Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Drexel, Downs Villanova
The women’s lacrosse team took home one out of two games this past week, winning on Saturday against Villanova and losing Wednesday against Drexel. Monmouth put up a strong performance in both games and now their record stands at 2-4 on the season.

The women’s lacrosse team failed to defeat the Bucknell Bison on Wednesday, Feb. 22 as they dropped their first home game of the season at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn 14-10.

The University’s field hockey team secured the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship. The title did not come easily for the Hawks as it was secured by winning back-to-back double overtime games over the Rider Broncs on Friday afternoon and the Fairfield Stags on Sunday morning.
Field Hockey Records Two Shutout Victories
Monmouth University Field Hockey commenced Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with a strong shutout victory over the Siena Saints, 5-0, on Friday afternoon and an overpowering win over Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn on Sunday morning blanking the Blackbirds 9-0. With the wins, Monmouth is now 2-0 in conference play this season.
Field Hockey Defeats Bucknell, Improves to 8-2
The Hawks entered the week ranked as the number 14 team in the country in the NCAA Rating Percentage Index (RPI), which measures a team based on wins and losses and its strength of schedule. Once again Monmouth was home to the MAAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the week with junior forward Meg Donahue and junior defender Julie Laszlo earning the rewards respectively.
