Monmouth Soccer Programs Gear Up for MAAC Tournament
Two weekends ago, both the men’s and women’s Monmouth soccer teams clinched the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season title, while also claiming the top seed for the upcoming MAAC championships. As a result, both teams have also been granted a first round bye in the tournament.
Men’s and Women’s Soccer Clinch MAAC Regular Season Titles
After defeating Niagara by a score of five goals to three last Saturday at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn, Monmouth men’s soccer was crowned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions for the eleventh time in its history and the second time in the last three years.
Men’s Soccer Extends Unbeaten Streak
Monmouth men’s soccer travelled to hOURglass rivals Rider University last Wednesday night, where they drew 1-1 after 110 minutes of play at Ben Cohen Field, bumping their record to 7-3-2, 3-0-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference while their opponents moved to 6-4-1, 1-2-1 in the MAAC.
Men’s Soccer Rolls Over Seton Hall University
Monmouth University men’s soccer cruised past Seton Hall University by a score of four goals to one at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn Tuesday night, improving their record this season to 4-3-1, while the visitors’ dropped to 0-5-1.
Hawks Dominate Nationally Ranked Wildcats
Monmouth men’s soccer cruised to a 3-1 victory over Villanova last Saturday at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn, . In doing so, the Hawks handed a Wildcats side ranked 25th in last week’s Top Drawer Soccer College Soccer National Rankings their first loss of the new season, after previously winning their first three.
