The University hosted nearly 400 students and more than 100 employers at the annual Fall Career Day on Oct. 31 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the second floor of the OceanFirst Bank Center. 

The University’s newest research vessel, originally acquired in June 27 as the R/V Nauvoo, was renamed the R/V Heidi Lynn Sculthorpe during a naming ceremony at Bahr’s Landing on Oct 8. 

Asbestos-Containing Minerals (ACMs), chemicals that can be toxic when released into the air, were discovered in small amounts at the University’s off-campus Bluffs Apartments during a renovation of the buildings this summer. 

The Outlook won The Best Overall Newspaper (non-daily publication) in the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Excellence in Journalism Competition as the newspaper that best represents its community.

Monmouth University will celebrate its third annual Student Scholarship Week from April 16 to April 22. More than 700 students will present their work in events that are, unless noted otherwise, free of charge. 

Monmouth University is celebrating Graduate Student Appreciation Week from April 7 to April 17. 

University students made their way to Anacon Hall in the Rebecca Stafford Student Center to learn of potential majors in a speed-dating style meeting with faculty on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Ken Nwadike, founder of the Free Hugs Project and peace activist, spoke to Monmouth University students and employees at Pollak Theare, recounting his story of becoming a motivational speaker.

The Monmouth University Debate Team hosted its 5th Annual Jersey Shore Invitational Debate Tournament on campus. Three University teams won awards by advancing into the playoff rounds. 

University President Grey Dimenna, Esq., sat down with WMCX  sophomore hosts Molly Fitcher and Noah Preschel to discuss topics such as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and the Title IX violation concerning the University in March of 2016 on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
