Football: The University’s football team dropped their final game of the season to the Gardner Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs, 34-33 in overtime. Redshirt freshman quarterback Kenji Bahar had his bast game to date, completing 27 of 38 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown. Senior running back Lavon Chaney ended his Monmouth career with a two touchdown performance, gaining 150 yards on 21 carries. Redshirt sophomore wide reciever Reggie White Jr. hauled in 10 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown. “I’m very happy, very proud with the way the players battled today,” Head Coach Kevin Callahan said. “At times I thought they played extremely hard. They put us in a position to win, but unfortunately we weren’t able to come away with the victory. The outcome can’t take away from the tremendous effort the team gave today.” The team finished the season with a 4-7 record and placed five players on 2016 All-Big South Conference teams. Junior safety Mike Basile, junior offensive lineman Alex Thompson, and White were named to the first team while senior wide reciever Darren Ambush and senor defensive end Darnell Leslie garnered second team honors.

As you know, this election was like no other. It was the first time a woman was the presidential nominee of one of the two main parties, the first time we had a businessman with no political background as the presidential nominee of the other main party, and one of the most highly controversial elections our country has faced in years. There have been rumors of corruption, deception, and unlawful activity, but now, it’s over. You’ve won. And now we have a few things to ask of you.
Monmouth Hawks: Is the University ‘Nest’ Safe? Reflecting on the Campus-Wide Lockdown Prompted by a Gun Incident
The University entered a campus-wide lockdown at 9:52 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1 after police received reports of a man with a gun. According to an e-mail sent by University President Paul R. Brown, Ph.D. the following day, the suspect approached two female students with a gun and demanded their cell phones; they fled and called the Monmouth University Police Department (MUPD), prompting the lockdown.
