Field Hockey Crowned MAAC Champions
The University’s field hockey team secured the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship. The title did not come easily for the Hawks as it was secured by winning back-to-back double overtime games over the Rider Broncs on Friday afternoon and the Fairfield Stags on Sunday morning.
Women’s Soccer Wins MAAC Championship
The Monmouth University women’s soccer team hosted the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament this past weekend after clinching regular season conference champs. The Hawks brought the same focus, energy and fire from the regular season into the first round of tournament play, beating Marist in the semifinals 4-1.

They finished with a 28-8 record, winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) regular season title and came within a three-pointer of forcing overtime in the MAAC Tournament title game.
Football Falls to No. 18 Coastal Carolina
The University’s football team took a 17-10 lead into halftime, but No. 18 Coastal Carolina went on a 28-0 run and came away with a 38-17 victory over the Hawks in front of 7,123 fans at Brooks Stadium in Conway, SC on Saturday afternoon.
