The MU baseball team (3-7) came away with a victory against top-ten nationally ranked program the University of Virginia (7-4) on Sunday, beating the Cavaliers 6-4.

The men’s basketball team concluded their regular season over the weekend and clinched the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Tournament with their 79-58 victory against the Rider Broncs on Friday, Feb. 26 on ESPN2.

The University’s softball team opened the 2016 season by participating in the Lancer Lead-Off Tournament this past weekend.

The top sports story on campus this year has been the success of the men’s basketball team. The Hawks wrapped up their season with a 77-68 win against Niagara on Senior Day and secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAAC Tournament.

Four thousand five hundred and twenty two fans packed the MAC in one of the most highly anticipated home games in years. But ultimately, the men’s basketball team fell to the Iona Gaels 83-67 on Friday, Feb. 19 in front of the largest crowd in the history of the Multipurpose Activity Center.

The MU women’s basketball team defeated Canisius 81-71 Sunday afternoon at the Koessler Athletic Center. Junior guard Tyese Purvis led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers, setting a new season high for the Hawks. MU improved their record to 11-16 (9-9 MAAC), moving into a tie for sixth place with Siena.

The MU men’s and women’s track teams each swept the field and took home the gold at the 2016 MAAC Conference Championship on Sunday.

The MU baseball team opened their 2016 season at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, NC this past weekend, going 1-3 in four games.

The magical season for the men’s basketball team continued after they stormed back from a 14 point deficit with 3:58 to go to take down the Rider Broncs (10-16, 6-9) in front of a sellout crowd of 1,650 at Alumni Gym in Lawrenceville on Feb. 12.

The women’s basketball team fell to the Fairfield Stags 80-70 Sunday afternoon at Alumni Hall in Fairfield, CT.
