The MU women’s basketball team defeated Canisius 81-71 Sunday afternoon at the Koessler Athletic Center. Junior guard Tyese Purvis led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers, setting a new season high for the Hawks. MU improved their record to 11-16 (9-9 MAAC), moving into a tie for sixth place with Siena.
