For the first time in nine years, the men’s basketball team picked up a victory in Hamden, CT as the Hawks defeated the Quinnipiac Bobcats 66-51 on Jan. 28.

Women’s Basketball Loses Two, Olson Scores 1000th Career Point
The women’s basketball team came up just short Saturday afternoon, losing 68-60 to Fairfield University at the Multipurpose Activity Center. Sophomore guard Dana Carbone led the Hawks in scoring with 14 points, 12 of which came off of three-point shots. However, the main milestone of the day came from senior guard Sarah Olson, who scored her 1,000th career point in the game.

The MU men’s lacrosse team kicked off their 2015-16 season on Saturday with a scrimmage against LIU Post on Kessler Field.

Brad Brach Succeeds In Major League Baseball
In 2014, the Baltimore Orioles won the American League East with a 96-66 record and advanced to the American League Championship Series. One of the key members of their bullpen was Brad Brach, who pitched for the Hawks from 2005-2008.
Monmouth Basketball Downs Purple Eagles
The Monmouth men’s basketball team defeated the Niagara Purple Eagles 56-42 Sunday afternoon at the Gallagher Center at Niagara University. Redshirt freshman guard Micah Seaborn led the Hawks with 13 points, and senior guard Deon Jones had a solid offensive day with 11 points and six rebounds. Monmouth also received contributions from junior guard Justin Robinson, who had eight points and four rebounds, and freshman forward Diago Quinn, who had six points and three rebounds in his first career start.
