The Monmouth University men’s golf team finished 11th in the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club’s Grace Course, a 7,091-yard par-72. The Hawks were led by senior Brady Goodling who tied for 18th overall with 158 strokes during the two day tournament. This marks his fourth top-20 finish of the season.
Junior Kyle Deisher finished second for MU with 163 strokes after the two rounds. Freshman Mariano Medico followed close behind at 165. Sophomore Jesse Hazam had rounds of 84 and 82 to finish at 166. Senior Colin Buckley ended the event at 177.
Earlier this week it was announced that MU’s field hockey team received three individual honors. Midfielder Trish O’Dwyer was named this week’s Female Student-Athlete of the Week (presented by Crons). O’Dwyer has played and started in all 15 games of this season. She currently leads the team in points (29), goals (10), and assists (9).
Freshman Christen Piersanti was named Defensive Player of the Week as she collected one win and one shutout this weekend. Piersanti has 62 saves in 12 games and a .729 save percentage.
Freshman Meg Donahue was named the Offensive Player of the Week. She scored two goals this past weekend and now has eight goals on the season.
