Pfizer Boosters Available At Vaccination Clinic

Kathy Maloney, DNP, APN, Director of Health Services, shared with students that Pfizer Booster Doses will be available on the second floor of the Ocean First Bank Center, from 12-4PM, on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Pre-registration is required, and a link was provided within the emailed message to the campus community.

First and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine are available alongside the booster dose for those who are yet to begin or complete their vaccination process. Moderna doses will be available as well to those pursuing their first or second dose.

Pfizer Booster Doses are now FDA approved, and the CDC promotes the following recommendations:

People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, according to the CDC recommendation. Those who are aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, the recommendation goes on to say.

Those aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks, and those aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.
