With just two more games in the regular season, Women’s Lacrosse tacked on their second conference win of the season against Campbell to bounce back after a three-game losing streak.
An incredible offensive performance from Monmouth shut down Campbell as midfielder #18 Danielle McNeely’s eight-point afternoon led the Hawks.
While Monmouth played a powerful offensive, it was Campbell who got off to a hot start, scoring three of the first four goals in the game. Monmouth responded with five straight goals to take the lead 6-3. A goal from Campbell and three more from Monmouth adjusted the score to 9-4 early in the second half. With 13:54 remaining, Campbell came within three goals, but Monmouth went on a run by scoring the next six goals in just six minutes to secure their 16-8 victory.
McNeely’s career-high four goals paced five other Hawks that each had two goals: attack #23 Caroline Brennan, attack #35 Mya Brock, midfielder #11 Maddie Flynn, midfielder #25 Sophia Lymberis, and attack #22 Shea Berigan.
Monmouth will host Georgetown on Saturday, Apr. 20 at Kessler Stadium where senior day will be celebrated for their second to last game of the season.
