Sea Hear Now Festival (SHN) is back for 2025 with another killer summer lineup. As well-known as most of the lineup is, there are still more underground artists just waiting to be discovered. Here’s a little preview of the artists to look forward to, and be sure to study up using the playlist below so you get the most out of your festival experience. As someone who has been the past two years, trust me, it’s worth it.
Headlining the festival on day one is Hozier, known for his hits “Take Me to Church” and “Too Sweet.” If you wanna get to know this incredible Irish musician, listen to “Jackie and Wilson” and “Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene.” Day two is the iconic 90s and 2000s band Blink-182, known for their hits “All The Small Things” and “I Miss You.” Be sure to brush up your Blink-182 knowledge by listening to “The Rock Show” and “Feeling This.”
Other big names are Lenny Kravitz, Sublime, LCD Soundsystem, and Alabama Shakes, all of which have big slots underneath the headliners. There are also many artists and bands worth taking the time to listen to and discover. Who doesn’t love discovering an artist before they blow up?
SHN fans are highly anticipating the arrival of Irish rock band Inhaler. Their songs “My Honest Face,” “It Won’t Always Be Like This,” and “Billy (Yeah Yeah Yeah)” have been on repeat in my car. Royel Otis is another worth-the-wait band and will most likely perform their viral cover of “Linger” by The Cranberries. New Jersey natives Gigi Perez and Surfing For Daisy are also on the lineup. Perez is known for her unearthly vocals on her track “Sailor Song,” which will hit so hard with the waves crashing in the background.
Without giving too much away about some of these artists, here’s a brief list of some others you’ll come across on this playlist: Remi Wolf, UB40, ZZ Top, 4 Non Blondes, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Neal Francis, Grace Bowers & the Hodge Podge, Mondo Cozmo, and many more.
With the perfect mix of Alternative, Folk, Rock, Reggae, and Hip-Hop, this festival will always draw a crowd. Get ready for the most surreal experience on the beaches of Asbury Park.
Don’t wait till the last minute to listen to these artists when being a fan of them is so much better. Happy listening!
