Harry Styles fans come “Together, Together” for new tour

Attention all Harry Styles fans: grab your feather boas, pearl necklaces, and platform boots. After nearly three years, Styles is back and hitting the road. On Thursday, Jan. 22, the artist announced the “Together, Together” tour, a global residency with a total of 50 shows.

Stops along the tour include New York, London, Amsterdam, São Paulo, Mexico City, Melbourne, and Sydney. Thirty of those shows will be in Madison Square Garden, the venue that previously awarded Styles a banner during “Love on Tour” when he had a fifteen night residency. Other stops include six shows at Wembley Stadium and six at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. Shows in Estádio Morumbis in São Paulo, Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, and the Accor Stadium in Sydney will each have two shows.

This time around Styles is touring his fourth studio album, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.” The album will be released on Mar. 6, with the tour kicking off on May 16 in Amsterdam.

One thing is clear: there will be high demand for the “Together, Together” tour. It is the first round of shows following the epic conclusion of “Love On Tour” that spanned two years around the globe. The tour started in 2021 and did not end until 2023. “Love On Tour” had a groundbreaking 169 shows and became one of the ten highest grossing tours with a total of $617.3 million. Styles concluded that tour at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, Italy where he promised fans he would return. He said, “We’re gonna go away forw a little bit and then come back.” However, with all the excitement for the new tour there is also some frustration.

Since the tour is a residency tour, Styles is only going to a handful of countries and venues. Instead of playing one or two shows in a city and then moving to another, he is staying in the same venue for multiple nights. For fans who do not live in or near the cities, will either be forced to travel to a show or not go. Needless to say, fans expressed their devastation on social media.

Until then fans can listen to the lead single from the new album, “Aperture.” Released just after the tour announcement, this song marks a new era of music for Styles. Unlike any of his previous work, the song blends soft beats with synthesizers, creating an electronic, soft disco feel.

Fans even had the opportunity to listen to the single a day before it was released. The singer took to social media to promote listening parties across the globe. The parties were held in independent record stores spanning from New York to Paris to Berlin, etc. The event had limited access, so eager fans lined up outside the stores for hours, hoping to receive a wristband and gain entry.

The music video for “Aperture” was released on Jan. 23, and highlights a theme of the album: dance. Styles stated in an interview with John Mayer that the songs on this album are meant to be played loud and danced to.

The music video begins with Styles wandering in a seemingly empty hotel where he soon realizes he is being followed ensuing an intense chase scene with the assailant. Eventually, the two break out into intricately choreographed dance scenes.

Overall, these announcements mark a new chapter Styles. The 31-year-old singer has spent the last three years away from the spotlight, traveling across the globe. Styles’ time away allowed him to realize the power and joy of dancing and singing with others, ultimately influencing his new music. “I just want them to come ready
