Women lacrosse delivered two impressive wins this past week. A balanced team effort resulted in a 14-11 victory over Fairfield on Wednesday and this was followed up with a 14-12 win over perennially dominant Canisius on Sunday. With the two wins Monmouth now stands at 5-8 overall and 3-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.

Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Marist 14-3 on Saturday
Women’s lacrosse team dropped their matchup over the weekend against in conference rival Marist, 14-3. The Hawks now stand at an overall record of 3-8 and 1-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Play.

Following a difficult loss last weekend, the women’s lacrosse team bounced back with an impressive 14-8 win over in conference rival Quinnipiac on Saturday. With the win Monmouth improves to an overall record of 3-7 and a begins Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play 1-0.
Women’s Lacrosse Defeats New Hampshire 10-8
Women’s lacrosse split their two away matchups over break. Beating the University of New Hampshire (UNH) 10-8 on Monday, March 12 and losing to Drexel 11-16 on Sunday, March 18. Monmouth now stands at an overall record of 2-7 and has completed their out of conference games.
Women’s Lacrosse Earns First Win of Season
Women’s lacrosse split their two matchups this past week, losing to George Mason 17-14 on Wednesday and defeating George Washington 14-8 on Saturday. With the win, Monmouth snaps their four-game losing streak and now stands at a 1-4 record overall.
Women’s Lacrosse Loses to Temple and Rutgers
Women’s lacrosse failed to come away with a win this past week dropping two home games, both by double-digits to extend their losing streak to three. Monmouth’s first loss came Wednesday afternoon as the team lost 18-7 to Temple. The Hawks struggles continued Saturday as they fell to Rutgers 19-8.
Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Army in Season Opener
Women’s lacrosse dropped their season opener to Army West Point Black Knights 12-9 on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks busted to an early lead thanks to sophomore attacker Nicole Ceraso who buried a free position goal three minutes into the game. Army’s offensive wasted little time responding with four straight goals over the next ten minutes to negate Monmouth’s hot start.
Field Hockey Loses to Fairfield in Conference Final
The Monmouth University field hockey team fell short of securing their second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship this past Sunday. The Hawks defeated Rider on Friday to earn the chance to play for the championship but were unable to overcome Fairfield for the crown.
Field Hockey Clinches Regular Season Title
The Monmouth University Field Hockey team secured its fourth straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) regular season crown this past weekend with two victories over Bryant and Rider. With the two wins, the Hawks have earned the right to host the MAAC championship next weekend. Monmouth will take a six-game winning streak into the tournament and hope to win it for the second straight year.
