From the court to the gridiron, MU senior Ed Waite has begun his transition from power forward to wide receiver. After spring practices had already begun for MU football, Waite decided he’d like to try his hand at football, a sport he hasn’t played since his sophomore year of high school.

The women’s basketball team won both their games this weekend on their way to securing the No. 3 seed in the Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament, and more importantly, a home game in the conference tournament. Their record improved to 15-14, 12-6 in the NEC.

Senior guard Carly Thibault’s life revolves around basketball. At 5’5” she may not be the biggest player on the court, but she has the biggest passion and has emerged as a leader of the women’s basketball team.
Women’s Basketball Wins Four Straight
The women’s basketball team is riding a four-game winning streak as their record improved to 12-12, 9-4 in the Northeast Conference (NEC). They won both their games this weekend, and are currently third in the NEC with five games to play.
Hawks Split NEC Games, Martin Scores 1,000th Point
The women’s basketball team played two games this weekend, losing on Saturday and winning on Monday. Their record sits at 9-12, 6-4 in the Northeast Conference (NEC). Senior forward Abby Martin needed two points to reach 1,000 for her career entering Monday’s game against Central Connecticut State.
Red Bulls Give Clark’s Career Wings
It has been a roller coaster ride for MU alum Ryan Clark. After a stellar career for the Hawks that included four All-NEC nominations, three Regional All-American selections and three NCAA Tournament appearances, Clark was drafted with the first overall pick of the Major League Soccer (MLS) Supplemental Draft by the New York Red Bulls.
Women’s Basketball Wins Five of Seven, Third in NEC
While there was break from classes, there was no break from basketball. The women’s basketball team played eleven games in the past month, going 6-5 over that span. They stand at 8-11 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
Hoyas Top the Hawks 61-48
In the final game of the fall semester, the women’s basketball team fell 61-48 to the Georgetown Hoyas on December 4. Georgetown has been in and out of the Associated Press Top 25 this season. Alysha Womack led the Hawks with 14 points while Georgetown’s Sugar Rodgers led all scorers with 30 points.
Women’s Hoops Falls to 2-5
The women’s basketball Team went 0-2 last weekend in the Navy Classic. After losing 81-74 against High Point on Friday, MU fell to East Carolina in the consolation round on Saturday 64-49 as their record dropped to 2-5.
