Senior basketball star Jesse Steele is adding his name to a growing list of athletes making it to the big leagues. Steele has recently signed a professional contract to play in his native Dominican Republic.

Baseball Stands at 14-6, Second in NEC
MU Baseball split a four-game series this weekend as they were hosted by Northeast Conference rivals Farleigh Dickinson. MU compiled 26 runs off 35 hits in the series and currently post a 23-16 record (14-6 NEC).
Softball Splits with Temple, Sweeps Mount St. Mary’s
The softball team went 3-1 last week against the Temple Owls and Mount St. Mary’s.
Ed Waite Takes His Talents to Kessler Field
From the court to the gridiron, MU senior Ed Waite has begun his transition from power forward to wide receiver. After spring practices had already begun for MU football, Waite decided he’d like to try his hand at football, a sport he hasn’t played since his sophomore year of high school.
Women’s Lacrosse Goes 9-0 in NEC Regular Season
The Hawks (11-6; 9-0) came back from a five goal deficit and defeated Bryant (8-7; 5-3) on Friday night by the score of 12-8.
Men’s Tennis Tops Sacred Heart
The men’s tennis team beat visiting Sacred Heart (SHU) 5-2 on Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Hawks overall record to 6-7 and evened their conference record at 3-3. Sacred Heart fell to 3-12 on the season with a conference record of 2-4.
Baseball Improves to 12-4, Second in NEC
The baseball team hosted this weekend’s series against Northeast Conference Rival, the Wagner Seahawks, as they won three of four games. The Hawks faced the Seahawks in two double headers, with Saturday’s first game being nine innings and the second being seven innings. On Sunday, the first game was seven innings long while the second game went nine frames.
Softball Sweeps La Salle and Central Connecticut
The softball team is starting to build momentum as they notched wins in all four games they played this week at home in double headers against La Salle University and conference foe Central Connecticut State University.
Seven Straight Wins for Women’s Lacrosse
The Hawks (9-6; 7-0) came back and defeated Quinnipiac (5-8; 3-3) on Friday afternoon at Kessler Field. The final score was 11-7. Senior midfielder Sam Savona led the way for MU, tying a career-high with four goals on the day, including three in the second half. Junior midfielder Kaleigh Gibbons also had four points on three goals and an assist.
