Men’s Soccer Finds Early Success in MAAC
For the first time this season the men’s soccer team won back-to-back games as they defeated Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponents Iona and Siena. With the wins, the Hawks improved their overall record to 3-5-3.
Hawks Drop Contest to NEC Rival St. Francis, 28-10
The Hawks football team dropped their contest to the Red Flash of St. Francis after having a hard time capitalizing on their two first half turnovers. With a final score of 28-10, MU falls to 3-4 while their former Northeast Conference foe improves to 2-4 for the season.

Junior Khari Bowen has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Cross Country Runner of the Week and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Cross Country Runner of the Week for his first place performance at the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct 5.
Hawks Soar to Fifth Straight Victory
The Hawks (10-1; 4-0) dominated the Manhattan Jaspers (3-8-1; 0-3-1) and won with a final score of 6-0 on Wednesday, Oct 2 at The Great Lawn. Freshman forward Alexis McTamney tallied one goal and three assists, senior midfielder Dana Costello contributed one goal and two assists, while senior forward Monique Plescia added two goals in the victory.
Football Downs Colonials for Third Consecutive Win
The Monmouth Hawks’ football team (3-3) defeated the Robert Morris University Colonials (2-3) by a score of 35-9 at Kessler Field on Friday, Oct 4. With the victory, MU continues their three game winning streak and improves their record to 3-3.
Golf Looking for a Breakout Season this Fall
The University’s golf team has been competing valiantly, and keeping busy, as they took part in the Rutgers Invitational, the Iona Quad Match and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) all in the month of September.
Soccer Ties Fairfield in Conference Opener
The men’s soccer team tied the Fairfield University Stags by a score of 1-1 this past Saturday, October 5th. With the tie Monmouth is now 1-5-3 on the year, while the Stags moved to 3-2-2. The game was the Hawks’ fifth overtime game of the season, and the fourth that went into two overtimes.

Former MU goalkeeper, Bryan Meredith, has signed to play professional soccer with the New York Cosmos. While at MU, he helped the Hawks capture four-straight Northeast Conference Regular Season Titles. Originally from Scotch Plains, NJ, Meredith finished his collegiate career with 36 shutouts and a 44-7-10 record.
Football Tramples Columbia for Second Win of Season
The Monmouth University Football team continued their stellar play when they defeated the Columbia University Lions, 37-14, at Wien Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Hawk’s win improves their record to 2-3 while the loss drops the Lions to 0-2.
