Saint Francis (Pa.) Spoils Senior Day at Kessler Field

The football team lost to Saint Francis (PA) on Senior Day 45-31. The Red Flash (4-6, 3-4) racked up 482 total yards on offense, including 119 on the ground from running back Anthony Abeid.

Head and Neck Injuries Hurting College Athletes

Is football a safe sport to play? John Lockwood, a former defensive lineman for the Hawks’ football team, was told by the school’s training staff last season that he wouldn’t be able to play anymore due to too many concussions.

Women’s Soccer Ends Season Against LIU Brooklyn

The second-seeded Blue and White women’s soccer team lost to third-seeded LIU Brooklyn 1-0.  This matchup was the Northeast Conference (NEC) semifinal which was played on DeGol Field in Loretto, P.A. on Friday November 4. The Hawks ended their season with this loss and with an overall record of 10-7-2; this was MU’s seventh straight season with double-digit victories.

Men’s Soccer Season Ends In Penalty Kicks

The men’s soccer team fell to Fairleigh Dickinson University in penalty kicks on Sunday and were eliminated in the semifinals of the NEC tournament. The Hawks finished the season with an 11-4-4 record.

The field hockey team is making big strides late in the season to prove that they are worthy of contending for the Northeast Conference title. Riding on a two-game winning streak, the Hawks played host to Bryant on Friday.

Bryant Spoils Homecoming at Kessler Field

The football team found a way to spoil the Homecoming celebration on Saturday at Kessler Field. The sun was shining, more than 4,000 fans were tailgating and the 1-6 Bryant team stood across the field. When the final whistle blew, the Bulldogs (2-6, 2-4) had won 27-24.

Women’s Soccer Falls to Saint Francis 3-2

The women’s soccer team lost a tough game to Saint Francis on Sunday afternoon by the final score of 3-2, on the Great Lawn.  It was a battle late in the season for first place in the Northeast Conference (NEC) standings. The Blue and White now post a record of 9-6-1 overall and a 6-2-1 record in conference action.

Men’s Soccer Remains Undefeated at Home

The men’s soccer team managed to stay undefeated at home this season after a win against Robert Morris and a tie versus St. Francis of Pennsylvania. The team currently sits 9-3-3 overall with a 4-1-2 record in the Northeast Conference.

Club Ice Hockey Team Starts Season 4-0-1

The MU Hockey team beat the Seton Hall Pirates 5-4 in an overtime game on October 7. The winning goal was scored by Hawks’ captain Kyle McKenna.
