The Hawks Lose in Final Seconds of Overtime, Eliminated From NEC Tournament

The women’s lacrosse team lost to Rutgers on Saturday March 2, by the score of 11-8. The Hawks record falls to 0-4. The Scarlet Knights jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game. Freshman MU mid­fielder Marial Pierce scored off an assist from junior midfielder, Ka­leigh Gibbons, to make the score 3-1 shortly after.

Eight Hawks Received All East Honors for their Performances

The men’s and women’s track teams took home two first place prizes in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Inter­collegiate Association of Ama­teur Athletics the first weekend of March.

The softball team continued their stretch on the road at the George Mason University Tourna­ment and picked up three wins in four games to move the Hawks to 7-3 on the season.

The baseball team started their 2013 season participating in the Ron Fraser Classic in Cary, North Carolina the second week of February.

The men’s basketball team lost their final two games of the season this weekend after falling to Mount St. Mary’s and Wagner. The Hawks ended their season with a 10-21 re­cord while going 5-13 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play.

The softball team started off the season by picking up wins in four out of five games on the road behind shut-down pitching and a powerful lineup.

Hawks Clinch Third Seed in NEC and Will Host First Tournament Game

The women’s basketball team won both their games this weekend on their way to securing the No. 3 seed in the Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament, and more im­portantly, a home game in the con­ference tournament. Their record improved to 15-14, 12-6 in the NEC.

On Saturday February 16, the Hawks lost their season opener to Fairfield 14-7.

Senior guard Gabby Singer hit seven three-pointers en route to helping the Hawks get a victory before heading home from Western Pennsylvania after defeating Robert Morris 60-48 Monday night.
