The women’s soccer team managed a 3-1 victory this past Saturday at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn against the Marist Red Foxes in their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season opener. This is Monmouth’s third victory over Marist in MAAC history.

Football Grabs First Win of the Season at Wagner
In the past two weeks, the football team not only picked up their first win of the season but also faced the Chippewas of Central Michigan in the program’s first ever game against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.

Former Monmouth Hawk and U.S. soccer legend Christie Rampone returned to the University to celebrate her recent World Cup victory and serve as honorary captain during the women’s soccer game against Seton Hall on Monday, Sept. 7.
Hawks Dominate Nationally Ranked Wildcats
Monmouth men’s soccer cruised to a 3-1 victory over Villanova last Saturday at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn, . In doing so, the Hawks handed a Wildcats side ranked 25th in last week’s Top Drawer Soccer College Soccer National Rankings their first loss of the new season, after previously winning their first three.
Hawks Edged by Holy Cross in Home Opener
Football is back. The Hawks kicked off their 2015 season falling to the Crusaders of Holy Cross 27-19 on Sept. 5. The football program is entering its second season in the Big South Conference, where they finished 6-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play in 2014. The Crusaders, a member of the Patriot League who went 4-8 a season ago and finished 2-4 in conference play were too much for the Hawks to handle on opening day at Monmouth Stadium. The two teams played once previously in 2013 at Holy Cross, with the Hawks coming out on top 21-14.

In my three years writing for The Outlook I always thought this would be the easiest article for me to write. That definitely is not the case.
