Men’s Tennis: The University men’s tennis team dropped two matches against DePaul (6-1) and Notre Dame (7-0) over the weekend. Senior Przemyslaw Filipek picked up the lone win for the Hawks on the weekend, a singles matchup against DePaul’s Alex Galoustian, 6-4 and 7-6. Senior Christian Viera (1-6, 6-2, 6-3) and freshman Vikrant Dahiya (3-6, 6-2, 7-5) went to a third set after winning the first, but both came up short. Monmouth dropped all six of the doubles matches on the weekend. The blue and white will head to Washington, DC for a pair of matches against Georgetown on Saturday and George Washington on Sunday. Saturday’s match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m start, while Sunday’s match will begin at noon.

Baseball travelled to North Carolina to open up their season this weekend as the Hawks defeated New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) on Friday by a score of 4-3, split a double-header with Bucknell winning 3-1 and losing 5-4 and fell to Penn State by a score of 14-2 on Sunday.
Men’s Basketball Splits Home Games, Falls to Seventh in NEC
The men’s basketball team split their home games this week. The Hawks defeated Sacred Heart on Thursday 63-56. On Saturday, Quinnipiac handled the Blue and White 71-48.
Women’s Basketball Falls to Lehigh in OT
The women’s basketball team opened its 2015-16 season this past Friday, falling to the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks 95-88 in overtime in Stabler Arena. Senior guard Jamiyah Bethune’s career-high 22 points and senior guard Sarah Olsen’s five three-point field goals were not enough to continue the programs 6-2 overall record over Lehigh.
