Leon Hess Business School hosts 2025 H.R. Young Lecture Series with keynote speaker Vincent Forlenza

Monmouth University’s Leon Hess Business School will sponsor and host “Building a Global Medtech Leader,” a lecture presented by Vincent Forlenza, on April 24 at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall Auditorium.

The presentation is a part of the 2025 H.R. Young Lecture Series. The H.R. Young Lecture Series is an annual event held at Monmouth which has previously featured many accredited professionals across multiple disciplines, such as last year’s keynote, Carmine Coppola, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sony Entertainment. “Last year, the Business School brought in Carmine Coppola, the CFO of Sony Music, as a guest speaker for our H.R. Young Lecture Series. The event was nothing short of a success. This year, we look forward to putting on another spectacular session with Mr. Vincent Forlenza and aim to provide students with valuable industry insight and networking opportunities within the Healthcare Industry,” explained Kylensky Miracle, sophomore business student and Event Coordinator.

Another notable speaker the school hosted in the past was Patrick O’Keefe, author of “Empire of Pain”. In the lecture he addressed the The Sackler family, owners of Purdue Pharma, and their role in contributing to the opioid crisis in America, particularly through their production of OxyContin.

This year, the event welcomes Vincent Forlenza, chair of Lehigh University’s Board of Trustees and retired executive at Becton, Dickinson and Company, a medical technology organization. “For this event, we are honored to have Mr. Vincent Forlenza speak to us about how he transformed Becton, Dickinson and Company into the global med-tech leader it is today. This presentation will offer students interested in the business side of healthcare valuable insights into what it takes to succeed, while also providing a glimpse into the healthcare industry for those curious about the field,” said Kyle Bleiweis, senior business student and Event Coordinator.

Bleiweis and Miracle, under the guidance of Richard Riccardi, MBA, Corporate Relations Officer at Leon Hess Business School, and Lead Coordinator of the event, are working in conjunction with the Business School to organize and promote the lecture series.

Bleiweis shared his role in putting the event together, “My role lies within assisting the everyday operations to make sure this event runs without a hitch. Everything from planning, organizing, and executing.”

“As a second-year student here at Monmouth, I’ve been asked by the Business School to be a part of the planning process for this year’s H.R. Young Lecture Series. More specifically, I’ll be promoting our event through various on-campus mediums, including ‘The Outlook’ and WMXC Radio,” added Miracle.

Riccardi urges students to attend the event, especially those interested in both business and healthcare, “What we try to do at The H.R. Young Lecture Series is present to the student body and community someone of great excellence. The purpose is to create exposure to students looking into both the business and healthcare sectors for careers.”
