This past Sunday the Monmouth Men’s Soccer team headed to Captains Field in Hempstead, New York to take on the Hofstra Pride in a defensive battle that resulted in another win for the Hawks.
It was junior defender Raul Garcia who was the deciding factor in the CAA match-up. In the 84th minute of the game he was assisted by freshman forward Marcin Kluz for the first and only goal. This goal came after the Hawks failed to capitalize on a 45 second span earlier in the half where they were awarded four corner kicks.
Sunday’s victory marks Monmouth’s second win over the Pride since 1993, moving the Hawks to 2-1-1 against CAA conference opponents. The Hawks play again this Friday on Hesse Field where they will take on the Temple Owls. The game can be caught on FloSports College and NBC Sports Philly.
