The Student Activities Board (SAB) held Flashback Friday, its first event of the spring semester on Jan. 23. The event was open to all University students looking for a fun night on campus, free of cost.

Competing for the Crown: Delta Tau Delta’s “Delta Queen”
Sorority women across campus are competing for the crown and title of Delta Queen, a competition recently created by Delta Tau Delta (DTD), in hopes of finding a sweetheart for their fraternity. Organizations participating include: Alpha Omicron Pi (AOPi), Alpha Sigma Tau (AST), Alpha Xi Delta (AXiD), Delta Phi Epsilon (DPhiE), Phi Sigma Sigma (PhiSig), and Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA).
Panhellenic Council Passes “Limited Frills” Recruitment
Sorority recruitment will be taking place this spring, leading unaffiliated University women into the Greek community. However, the Panhellenic Council, the governing body that oversees formal sorority recruitment, is taking a different approach to the formal recruitment process this spring. The council voted to instate “limited frills” recruitment, and passed the motion.
Are You Smarter than a Fraternity Man?
Alpha Sigma Tau (AST) quizzed the sorority girls at their fall event, “Are You Smarter Than A Fraternity Man” to raise money and awareness for their local philanthropy, The Ashley Lauren Foundation, on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

A little rain couldn’t stop University students and alumni from gathering together on Saturday, Oct. 11, to celebrate Homecoming. Sports teams, Greek organizations, and campus clubs welcomed home their alumni with a tailgate before the football game vs. Columbia University.
Austin Renfroe Quad Concert Rocks the University
Up-and-coming musician Austin Renfroe performed at “Stars and S’mores,” an event co-sponsored by the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and the Student Activities Board (SAB), on Tuesday, Sept. 30 on the Residential Quad. The event featured music, multiple bonfires, s’mores, and hot chocolate for all University students.
So You Didn’t Cheat, but You Did
The meaning of dating has changed so many times that it’s hard to keep track anymore. Millennia’s have stretched the term ‘dating’ to the furthest contexts, to the point where “Netflix and chill” could even be considered a first date these days. Imagine explaining “Netflix and chill” to your grandparents who lived in a time where dating meant actually going on dates. Dating as in getting picked up at the front door, going to the movie theatre, actually watching the movie, kissing goodnight on the porch, and waiting for a call saying he had a good time. Back when there were no cell phones, relationships started with actual attraction and communication in person rather than scrolling through Tinder and hoping a hook up turns into more. The way we fall in love and fall out of love has changed so drastically over the years that it only makes sense that cheating has as well.

Going into senior year is basically the same as going into freshmen year. You’re a naïve student who thinks the world is right at your fingertips. Everyone you’ve ever talked to tells you how easy senior year is, and you believe them. This is going to be the best year ever, you tell yourself as you move into your off-campus apartment or house for the final time. I worked really hard last year and took extra classes just so I only had to take eight classes this year. It’s going to be so easy.
