A total of 107 high school students from Monmouth and Ocean counties graduated from Mini-Medical School on Monday, Oct. 28 in Pollak Theatre.

With student debt at an unsustainable high of approximately $1.5 trillion, advocates say that free education could reform the consumerist business model that drives universities’ tuition hikes.

Monmouth University hosted its 6th Biennial Interdisciplinary Conference on Race, themed “Race, Memory, and Identity,” which included distinguished speakers and cultural performances in Wilson Hall and Magill Commons from Nov. 14-16. 

The University hosted its annual Fall Career Day, providing students with the opportunity to network with 118 employers from a variety of industries, on Nov. 5 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the second floor of the OceanFirst Bank Center.

Linda Deutsch ‘65, a Veteran Associated Press (AP) Reporter and Monmouth Alumna, returned to campus to be honored for her achievements and generosity in Jules Plangere, Jr. Center for Communication, at 5 p.m. on Nov. 11.

A recent survey found that 50 percent of millennials and 75 percent of Generation Z (Gen Z) respondents have quit a job due to mental health reasons, according to Mind Share Partners. 

Mehdi Husaini, former Student Government Association (SGA) President, was interviewed by ESPN about The Nest, Monmouth’s food pantry, to grow its’ exposure and continue conversation about food insecurity during half-time at Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 19. 

Student Government Association (SGA) and Greek Senate co-sponsored a Drinking and Driving Awareness event as part of spirit week to highlight the dangers of driving while intoxicated on Tuesday, Oct. 15. 

Monmouth’s annual Hispanic Heritage Month’s opening ceremonies took place on in Anacon Hall, in the Rebecca Stafford Student Center on Wednesday, Sept. 25. 

An art exhibition titled “Just Beachy/After Sandy,” created by Karen Bright, MFA, a Professor of Art, and Amanda Stojanov, an Assistant Professor of Communication, is displayed in DiMattio Gallery located in Rechnitz Hall, where its opening reception took place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.
