Over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed signs that students have posted in their windows. Some are big, some are small, some are countdowns for different holidays, but the ones that always strike my curiosity are the signs in regards to partying. Most of these partying signs reference the constant college student’s struggle between going out on a week night or studying for that huge test you have the next morning. Many students choose to go out instead of studying, but is that what we are really here for?

Over 800 million people log on to Facebook everyday. Some change statuses, upload photos, or just stalk people who they used to be friends with, but something about Facebook has lawmakers wondering what is appropriate.

The first day Google+ opened to the public in early September of last year, I was quick to make an account. After getting tired of all the undesirable changes to Facebook and the long list of “friends” that I haven’t spoken to since high school, you could say I was ready to break out and start over.

In lieu of Black History Month, the topic of diversity is more aware among the students.

Let’s face it, the holiday season is upon us. There is no more putting it off. Everywhere we turn from Wilson Hall to the dorm’s decorations, the holidays are thrusted into our faces. Perhaps the most obvious sign of the holidays is the television specials we all know and love.

The University is home to over 4,500 undergraduate students and about 2,000 graduate students that are all susceptible to the standard attendance policy. Each department at the University has its own attendance policy. On average, each policy allows two class absences per semester.

Every weekend the University parking lots turn into a regular cab depot. A person could easily count over 10 cabs residing in the parking lots whether they are picking up students or dropping them off. The cab service is primarily used for transporting students to parties in the area, but they are also used for transportation for students who do not have their own car on campus. These cabs have become a staple on our college campus, which would make their absence peculiar.

The world is no stranger to the accomplishments of famous innovators such as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Thomas Edison, to name a few. One man, who has often been compared to these historical greats, has joined the ranks of famous innovators. From the original desktop computer to the sleek iPad tablet, Steve Jobs has single-handedly changed the way we see electronics. After the recent passing of Jobs, the world has been left grieving and wondering what is going to happen to technology as we know it.
