Softball earned four wins on the road this weekend while competing in doubleheaders against Manhattan and Saint Peter’s, respectively, as sophomore pitcher Alyssa Irons clinched third place for most wins in program history in a single season with 20.

Softball Wins Three of Four in Doubleheaders
Another week, another impressive performance by sophomore pitcher Alyssa Irons, and three more wins added to Softball’s record as the Hawks competed in two doubleheaders at home to Quinnipiac and away to Rider, respectively.
Softball Sweeps Weekend Behind Perfect Game
Sophomore pitcher Alyssa Irons threw the first perfect game for Softball since 2006 in game one of the program’s home double header with Niagara on Friday, where they won both games before sweeping Canisius in a double header on Saturday.
Softball Sweeps Wagner in Home-Opening Series
Softball swept Wagner in their first home series of the season, shutting them out and winning by a combined score of 12-0 over the two games on Sunday at MU Softball Park.
Track and Field Sends Athletes to U.S. Championships
Track and Field sent four current athletes and one former athlete to Staten Island, New York to compete in the U.S. National Indoor Championships this past weekend at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Track and Field Wins MAAC Championships
Both the men’s and women’s Track and Field teams were crowned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champions this past weekend at the New York Armory. Women’s Track and Field has now won the conference for the sixth year in a row and the men’s team captured their fifth MAAC championship in six years.
Men’s and Women’s Track Win Home Invitational
Men’s and Women’s Track and Field came out on top this past weekend at the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational, while a small group of middle distance runners were sent up to Boston University to compete in the Valentine Invitational.
Swimming Earns Double Over Howard in Road Meet
Men’s Swimming returned home from Emmitsburg, Maryland on Saturday with two wins, sweeping Mount St. Mary’s and Howard, while the women’s team was also victorious against Howard.
University Transitions to Under Armour Apparel
The University has made a transition in its athletic apparel from its former sponsor, Nike, to Under Armour (UA) over the past year. The multi-year contract was announced on Nov. 30, 2016, and the transition in athletic apparel and team uniforms began on July 1, 2017.
Women’s Soccer Edges Manhattan with Overtime Goal
Women’s soccer posted two 1-0 shutouts this past week on the road to Manhattan on Wednesday and at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn on Saturday night versus Siena, bumping their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) record to 3-1-0.
