When thinking of Greek life at Monmouth University, what immediately comes to mind is probably the thrill of sorority recruitment, the excitement of entering a brotherhood, endless philanthropy events and a sense of community. Multicultural Greek Organizations Honor Black History Month
February is Black History Month, and is celebrated annually to honor the African Americans who have experienced years of adversity. However, this year brings about a greater importance to the celebration, after the inauguration of the first female Vice President, Kamala Harris, who is of African American descent, as well as the rise of empowerment movements such as Black Lives Matter.
University to Host First Virtual Spring Recruitment
One of the most highly anticipated events each year at Monmouth University is Panhellenic Recruitment. This event takes course over three days at the beginning of the spring semester, and attracts undergraduate women who are interested in joining a sorority. However, like most things this year, this event will now be hosted virtually from Feb. 19-22 via Zoom.

On this past Wednesday, the Sports Industry Club held a meeting with Bleacher Report’s Director of Brand Marketing and Monmouth Alum, Jen Zudonyi. Established in 2017, Monmouth University created a sensational on-campus organization called First to Fly: First Generation at Monmouth. The main purpose behind First to Fly is to give recognition and support to the first-generation college students on campus.
