Woodstock, Coachella, Firefly, Bonnaroo, Warped Tour, Governor’s Ball…the list goes on and on. Music festivals have always played a major role in the lives of many Americans, particularly the younger generations, but it seems that just as the culture has changed with the times, the meaning behind these melodic celebrations has also undergone some alterations.
While Founding Father Benjamin Franklin once said, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise,” American journalist James Thurber claimed, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and dead.” If whether or not a person identifies as an early bird or a night owl also has the ability to determine the quality of their life, which one of these two men are we supposed to believe?
One rainy afternoon, I scampered to my car, leaping over puddles. I hopped in and stuck my key into the ignition. I plugged the auxiliary cable into my iPhone and pressed the power button on my dashboard.
