The University’s golf team has been competing valiantly, and keeping busy, as they took part in the Rutgers Invitational, the Iona Quad Match and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) all in the month of September.

Soccer Ties Fairfield in Conference Opener
The men’s soccer team tied the Fairfield University Stags by a score of 1-1 this past Saturday, October 5th. With the tie Monmouth is now 1-5-3 on the year, while the Stags moved to 3-2-2. The game was the Hawks’ fifth overtime game of the season, and the fourth that went into two overtimes.

Former MU goalkeeper, Bryan Meredith, has signed to play professional soccer with the New York Cosmos. While at MU, he helped the Hawks capture four-straight Northeast Conference Regular Season Titles. Originally from Scotch Plains, NJ, Meredith finished his collegiate career with 36 shutouts and a 44-7-10 record.
Football Tramples Columbia for Second Win of Season
The Monmouth University Football team continued their stellar play when they defeated the Columbia University Lions, 37-14, at Wien Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Hawk’s win improves their record to 2-3 while the loss drops the Lions to 0-2.
FH Dominates Nationally Ranked Delaware
The Hawks’ field hockey team pulled off their most notable win of the season on Sunday, Sept. 29 in a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Delaware Blue Hens on So Sweet A Cat field.
Soccer Defeated, Lose to CCSU Second Consecutive Year
Men’s soccer lost to the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils, 1-0, on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Hawks dominated the entire game with an advantage on corner kicks, 10-2, and outshot the Blue Devils 13-4.
Women’s Soccer Scores Another Win
The women’s soccer team defeated conference rival, the Canisius College Golden Griffins with a score of 2-1 on Saturday, Sept. 28 at The Great Lawn. The Hawks improve to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) while the Griffins fall to 3-8-1 for the season and 1-2 in the conference. With the win, the Hawks remain in first place for the MAAC women’s soccer standings.

The University’s men’s tennis team competed in the Men’s Invitational at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Friday, Sept. 20-Sunday, Sept. 22. MU sent five players to the semi-finals.
Football Drops Holy Cross for First Win of Season
For the second straight week, MU rode the legs of the running back combination of junior Julian Hayes and senior Kwabena Asante as they held off the Holy Cross Crusaders, 21-14.
Despite Dominating Regulation, Hawks Tie Albany 1-1
The men’s soccer team came away with a “disappointing” 1-1 tie when they played the University of Albany Great Danes on the Great Lawn on Friday, September 20. The Hawks dominated time of possession, as well as shots on goal, but could not capitalize enough to come away with a victory.
