The University has now added another sports team to the list. A men’s lacrosse team will be added to the roster for the 2013 season. The University has just named Rutgers graduate, Brian Fisher, as the head coach of the first Hawks’ men’s lacrosse team.
The field hockey team fell last weekend to St. Francis (PA), but picked up two wins over this past weekend.
The football team lost 41-38 against Cornell on Saturday.
After going 1-3 in their previous four games and scoring only two goals, the Hawks have finally started to click on offense. Tallying eight goals in the last three games, MU finds itself at 8-3-2 and in the hunt for the Northeast Conference title with five games to play.
The football team’s threegame winning streak came to an end Saturday when they lost 55- 24 to Albany.
The Hawks soccer team lost their place in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25 last week, but continues to receive votes in the rankings. In the Top Drawer Soccer Tournament 48, the Hawks were number 42 as they opened up Northeast Conference play last weekend.
The field hockey team continued their road trip this weekend, picking up their second win of the season.
When you go to a Division I school, one thing that is expected of the students is to go to home sporting events to show your fan support.
The football team won its third consecutive game on Saturday, defeating Sacred Heart 27-14 at Kessler Field. “We’re happy to get the second win in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, that puts us at 2-0,” said head coach Kevin Callahan. “It puts us in control of our own fate in terms of the conference race.”
On Friday, the field hockey team came out victorious for the first time this season with a 5-1 win over Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. The victory came with the first game of a seven-game road trip.
