After living in Long Branch for about four years, I have watched Asbury Park morph from a worndown unsafe location into a flourishing treasure chest of prime day and night-time entertainment. The improvements that have been made to Asbury Park has made it an ‘it’ spot for young adults.
Local psychedelic progressive rock band Karmic Juggernaut tore up The Press Room in Asbury Park during their show last Friday night. The three-man band rocked so hard that the audience was left slack-jawed and mind-blown.

With the dawning of a new year, questions and rumors arise of what to expect from the 2012 concert scene as music lovers buzz with excitement of what is to come. Based on the successes of last year’s music scene and the newest artists’ announcements, I present the top 10 most anticipated musical events of 2012.
For students that live locally and are of legal age to drink, their social lives depend on two bars. These two bars are called Jack’s Goal Line Stand and Draft House. The dueling sport bars are the first considered stop for college locals.
The University will present the program “9/11, A Ten Year Perspective” on Thursday, November 3 at 4:30 pm in Wilson Hall. With the passing of a decade, this event will allow people to gather at the University and reflect on their own perspectives of the terrorist attacks.
This past weekend, Asbury Park hosted the annual New Jersey Zombie Walk at the Convention Hall Boardwalk. Hordes of the undead roamed the town and left me wondering…What if? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s emergency preparedness and response website, “ the rise of zombies in pop culture has given credence to the idea that a zombie apocalypse could happen. In such a scenario zombies would take over entire countries, roaming city streets eating anything living that got in their way.”
While on the train to New York Penn Station one Sunday, I sipped my coffee and eavesdropped on the conversation that took place in the seats before me. There sat three girls, no older than 16. They were dressed in tight knit tops tucked into thin mid-waist miniskirts.
