Thor Ragna – “Rocks”

“I don’t hang with the Avengers anymore,” explains our titular hero Thor (Chris Hemsworth). “It all got too corporate.” This quickly mentioned, throwaway line is so much more poignant when it’s applied to the Marvel cinematic universe. It was by removing Thor from the rest of the gang and giving him a new identity that Thor: Ragnarok easily becomes one of the most engaging, downright hilarious, and best Marvel films ever.

Kong: Skull Island is No King

Hard-nosed U.S. Army Colonel Preston Packet (Samuel L. Jackson) describes fighting the legendary ape Kong as “dealing with a monster from a bygone era.” King Kong certainly has a colorful, illustrious past onscreen, but Kong: Skull Island adds nothing new or exciting to its history. Dull, clichéd, and overly cheesy, the film strives to establish a new era for Kong, but unfortunately fails.

The University’s Phi Eta Sigma chapter held it’s annual induction ceremony of 196 new members in Pollak Theater on Friday, Mar. 24. Phi Eta Sigma, the nation’s oldest and largest honor society for first-year college and university students, encourages and rewards academic excellence among freshmen in institutions of higher learning, according to their site.
