Last November, University faculty, students and guests were offered a spring break trip to Florida. Just last week, they all packed their bags and spent a weekend in Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Sustainability in this country is becoming more and more of an issue as chemicals, toxins and waste float throughout our ecosphere’s air, water and soil.

The University’s Shadow PR Firm and Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter is hosting the inaugural “Monmouth Hawks Dance Together,” a six-hour dance-a-thon on Friday, April 4 from 6 pm – midnight. The dance-a-thon is aimed at benefitting The Valerie Fund, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to provide comprehensive health care and support for children with cancer and rare blood disorders in the tri-state area.

The University welcomed Tau Delta Phi as an official fraternity chapter of Greek life on Wednesday, March 5. The fraternity, along with its 26 members, is in the process of completing its colonization process in hopes of becoming a nationally recognized chapter by the fall 2014 semester.

At the heart of our hawk is a group of approximately 45 students who are responsible for uplifting the spirits of students and athletes. Deemed “The Big Sound of the Jersey Shore” by former President Paul Gaffney, this “Spirit Team” ensemble plays your favorite tunes like LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” and DJ Khaled’s “All I Do is Win” at basketball and football games in an effort to get the crowd going and help to lead the teams to victory.

Seven members of the University’s Hawk TV station had the opportunity to attend the 2014 National Broadcasting Society (NBS) Convention at the Burbank Marriot Hotel in Burbank, CA, from Wednesday, March 12 through Saturday, March 15. Hawk TV left with four grand prize awards and seven honorable mention titles.
